If you live anywhere that the temperature gets below freezing, condensation or ice on the carburetor can make it difficult for your LP fueled generator to start. A generator that is otherwise perfectly maintained will have trouble starting. A carburetor heater kit has a thermostat that activates the heater when the temperature gets below 40 degrees F so that ice and condensation don’t form.
The heater is easily installed between the engine air cleaner and the carburetor. You can do it yourself, or call one of our service technicians to do it for you.
For people who live in northern areas that depend on generators to power essential items such as sump pumps, the generator kit is a necessity. But it’s also a good idea for those in places that don’t freeze often. The cold, ice, and snow that will make your power go out are the same things that could prevent your generator from starting. And you certainly don’t want your family – or your pipes – to be left out in the cold.
